Our Story
Exploration, hospitality and building experiences.
Unseen Journeys was born from years of living, exploring and working in Baja California Sur. Driving its roads, diving its waters, crossing its mountains, meeting its people, listening to their stories and slowly understanding a territory that cannot be discovered through a list of places to visit.
We realized that between us we had accumulated something difficult to find in a travel guide: years of experience on the ground, local relationships, stories, routes, places and people worth knowing.
So we created Unseen. Exploration, hospitality and building experiences.
We design journeys for small private groups, combining nature, exploration, culture, food, photography and the people who give each place its identity. Some journeys take us underwater. Others across the desert, into the mountains, along remote coastlines or simply to a table where there is a good story to hear.
We are not interested in checking places off a list. We want to understand where we are.
Our Mission
To create journeys that bring people closer to a territory through nature, exploration, culture, food and local stories. We travel in small groups, work with people who know the places we visit, and approach nature as visitors. We enjoy it, learn from it and leave it as we found it.
Our Vision
We believe travel can be more personal, more curious and more connected to place. Our vision is to build a collection of journeys around places we genuinely know and love, without losing what made us start Unseen in the first place: small groups, local knowledge, exploration, good people and respect for the territory.
Founders
Miguel Bravo
— Founder
Strategy · Development · Journeys
Miguel has spent more than 20 years developing businesses, projects and organizations, with much of his recent work connected to hospitality, tourism, real estate and the development of new concepts.
After living in Baja California Sur for around 15 years, his relationship with the peninsula goes far beyond work. He has explored it by road and by sea, while participating in projects that have given him a close view of its communities, its opportunities and the challenges that come with its rapid transformation.
At Unseen, Miguel brings together the different pieces behind each journey: the concept, the people, the partnerships, the logistics and the business behind making it possible.
Leonardo González
— Founder
Exploration · Photography · Expeditions
Leonardo is a nature photographer, diver, drone operator and expedition guide based in La Paz. Since 2010, he has traveled and documented the Baja California peninsula, capturing its marine life, mountains, history and the people who inhabit it.
For more than 16 years, his work has taken him from the reefs of Cabo Pulmo to remote overland routes and the hidden missions of the Sierra de la Giganta. Through photography and film, he has built a way of telling the story of Baja that comes from actually being out there.
At Unseen, Leonardo brings that knowledge into the journeys themselves, leading route development, expeditions and the visual storytelling of the places we explore.
Anna Sara Cano
Hospitality · Food · Experiences
Anna Sara brings 14 years of experience across hospitality, food, logistics and guest experience.
Her background is unusually diverse: private chef and catering, chef aboard sailing vessels, mixology, event production and her own pastry business. She is also a certified diver, bringing together two worlds that are fundamental to Unseen: hospitality and the sea.
Her role is to make sure a journey is not only about where we go, but how we experience it — the food, the details, the people, the atmosphere and everything that happens between one destination and the next.
Why Unseen
Sometimes they are at the end of a dirt road. Sometimes underwater. Sometimes behind a mountain.
Sometimes they are a person you would have never met, a meal you didn’t know existed or a story you would have driven right past.
We look for those places. We find the people behind them. We build journeys around them.
