La Ventana: Wind, Water & Wilderness
A four-day journey into the wild heart of the Sea of Cortez, where desert meets sea, wind meets water, and kitesurfing meets conservation
Itinerary
Day 1 — Wednesday
Arrival in La Ventana
Guests make their way to La Ventana, with transportation coordinated upon request.
As the road approaches the coast, the landscape opens into the characteristic combination of mountains, desert, and the blue waters of the Sea of Cortez.
Upon arrival, guests check into their eco-cabins and have time to discover Casa Tara.
Explore the gardens, walk down to the beach, relax by the pool, visit the spa, or simply settle into the slower rhythm of La Ventana.
The first afternoon is intentionally open.
This is time to arrive — not just physically, but mentally.
Evening — Welcome Dinner at Casa Tara
The group gathers for its first dinner at Casa Tara Hotel & Wellness Retreat.
A relaxed evening introduces the rhythm of the days ahead and provides an opportunity to discuss kiteboarding, weather conditions, optional activities, and individual interests.
Overnight at Casa Tara Eco-Cabins.
Dinner: Included.
Day 2 — Thursday
Morning — Yoga & Breakfast
Begin the first full day with the option to join one of Casa Tara's scheduled yoga classes.
Breakfast follows at the hotel, with the Sea of Cortez setting the tone for the day.
Kiteboarding
The day opens into one of the experiences that defines La Ventana: kiteboarding.
Lessons can be arranged according to each guest's level, from complete beginners learning the fundamentals on land to experienced riders looking for time on the water.
Exact timing depends on wind conditions and the individual kite program.
Guests not participating in kiteboarding can enjoy the hotel, beach, pool, spa, or select another optional activity.
Afternoon — Casa Tara
Return to Casa Tara for food, rest, and an open afternoon.
The journey intentionally leaves space between activities so the experience doesn't become a race from one scheduled event to another.
Evening — Casa Xolo
Tonight we leave the hotel and experience another side of La Ventana through dinner at Casa Xolo, one of the area's chef-driven dining experiences.
Dinner is part of the Journey's itinerary, but guests order and pay directly at the restaurant.
Overnight at Casa Tara Eco-Cabins.
Dinner: Not Included.
Day 3 — Friday
Morning — Yoga & Breakfast
Begin the morning with yoga at Casa Tara followed by breakfast.
From here, the day can take different directions.
Kite / Sea / Desert
Guests can continue their kiteboarding experience or choose to explore another side of La Ventana.
Optional experiences include: Sea Safari (exploring marine environment), Mountain Biking (exploring desert trails), or Hiking (discovering mountains and viewpoints).
Or simply stay: spend the day between the beach, pool, gardens, spa, and quiet spaces of Casa Tara.
Evening — Casa Tara
Return to the hotel for a relaxed evening and dinner.
Overnight at Casa Tara Eco-Cabins.
Dinner: Included.
Day 4 — Saturday
Morning — Yoga & Breakfast
The morning once again begins with the option of yoga followed by breakfast at Casa Tara.
Day — Your Experience
Saturday remains intentionally flexible.
Guests may continue progressing with kiteboarding, return to the sea, explore the desert by bike or on foot, book a spa treatment, or simply enjoy a slower day at Casa Tara.
Weather and wind conditions help determine the best opportunities.
Rather than forcing the destination into a fixed schedule, we follow what La Ventana gives us that day.
Evening — Cebollajo
For the final full evening, the group heads out for dinner at Cebollajo, another chef-driven restaurant experience in La Ventana.
It is a chance to gather after several days of wind, water, movement, and exploration.
Dinner is part of the itinerary but is paid directly by each guest.
Overnight at Casa Tara Eco-Cabins.
Dinner: Not Included.
Day 5 — Sunday
Yoga, Breakfast & The Sea
Wake up for one final morning in La Ventana.
Join yoga, have breakfast, walk along the beach, swim, or simply spend some quiet time overlooking the Sea of Cortez.
The morning is deliberately unhurried.
Departure
Check out of Casa Tara and begin the journey home.
Transportation can be coordinated by Unseen according to each guest's destination and travel plans.
The journey ends here, but La Ventana tends to leave people with a reason to return.
Five days. One place. Many ways to experience La Ventana.
