La Paz to San Evaristo
Leave La Paz behind and travel north into one of the most remote and dramatic stretches of coastline in Baja California Sur.
La Paz to San Evaristo is a three-day overland and marine journey combining remote coastal roads, isolated beaches, desert landscapes, snorkeling, marine exploration, photography, and life in the small fishing community of San Evaristo.
The road itself is part of the experience. Traveling north from La Paz, the landscape becomes increasingly remote as paved roads give way to desert tracks and the mountains meet the Sea of Cortez.
From San Evaristo, the journey moves onto the water for a full day of marine exploration around Isla San José, including a marine safari and snorkeling at El Pardito, before returning to the village for dinner, a campfire, and a night beneath the Baja sky.
On the final day, we explore San Evaristito on foot before beginning the journey back to La Paz, with opportunities for snorkeling, photography, and spontaneous stops along the coastal road.
Three days moving between desert, mountains, remote communities, islands, and sea.
This is Baja beyond the end of the road.

Is this journey for me?
This journey is for curious travelers who want to go deeper into Baja rather than simply visit it.
It is designed for people who enjoy remote landscapes, road exploration, the ocean, snorkeling, photography, small communities, simple experiences, and the unpredictability that comes with traveling through wild places.
Guests should be comfortable spending extended periods traveling by 4x4 and boat, walking through uneven terrain, being exposed to sun and wind, and spending time in places with limited services and connectivity.
Physical grading: Moderate / Travel style: Overland & Marine Exploration.
Departure
La Paz / Time Confirmed Before Departure. Return to La Paz approximately 5:00 PM on Day 3. Route: LA PAZ → COASTAL ROAD → SAN EVARISTO → ISLA SAN JOSÉ → EL PARDITO → SAN EVARISTITO → ARROYO VERDE → LA PAZ.
About the Host: Leonardo
Some places are found on a map. Others are discovered by taking the road further.
Leonardo is a photographer, filmmaker, and explorer who has spent years traveling through the remote landscapes of Baja California Sur, documenting the places, people, wildlife, and unexpected moments he encounters along the way.
Many of his journeys begin with a simple curiosity: Where does that road go?
That curiosity has taken him across desert tracks, isolated beaches, mountain landscapes, remote communities, and stretches of coastline rarely experienced by visitors — always with a camera nearby and the patience to stop when something worth seeing appears.
Through photography and film, Leonardo documents these journeys and shares his own perspective of Baja: not only its iconic landscapes, but the lesser-known places and stories found between destinations.
For this Unseen Journey, Leonardo is not simply leading the route. He is inviting you to travel the way he does — exploring slowly, following curiosity, and looking more closely at what most people pass by.
Whether traveling together in his vehicle or leading a small 4x4 caravan into remote Baja, Leonardo remains at the heart of the journey — setting the route, reading the landscape, and knowing when something along the road is worth stopping for.
